EASTER SUNDAY – CHRIST IS RISEN! ALLELUIA! ALLELUIA!

What a great day! Easter is the celebration of the Lord’s resurrection from the dead. It is our greatest feast. We have spent the last forty days preparing to celebrate the Easter. Through spiritual struggle and self-denial, we have prepared ourselves to die spiritually with Christ on Good Friday, the day of His Crucifixion, so that we can rise again with Him in new life on Easter.  We have fasted, and now it is time to feast, for our Lord and Savior has conquered death. He has destroyed death. Today begins the great day of the Easter season which lasts for the next fifty days. For the entirety of the season, we will see the Easter candle at the ambo as a reminder of what we are celebrating the resurrection of the Lord. It has been a beautiful week preparing for the celebration of the resurrection of the Lord. Thank you to all our volunteers who have made Holy Week especially holy. A special thanks to our choirs, musicians, decorators and everyone else that made this week great! Very special thanks to everyone who came to pray with us throughout the week. Easter isn’t a spiritual event that happened just once, long ago; we don’t say “Christ has risen” but “CHRIST IS RISEN,” because He rose, body and soul, and is still alive and with us today. That is the true meaning of Easter. I wish you a very holy and blessed Easter season!  God Bless!                                                                                                 Father Maria Joseph Kodiganti
